Romero: Redefiniendo el Horror” en el centro cultural Doctor Madrazo. Las cuatro películas programadas tendrán lugar en dos sesiones dobles\, los miércoles 9 y 16 de julio. \n__PROGRAMA__ \n▶︎ MIÉRCOLES\, 9 DE JULIO \n● 17:45h – «Night of the Living Dead» (1968) – 96 min.\n● 19:25h – «Hungry Wives» (1972) – 89 min. \n▶︎ MIÉRCOLES\, 16 DE JULIO \n● 18:00h – «The Amusement Park» (1973) – 54 min.\n● 19:25h – «Martin» (1977) – 95 min. \n************ \nGeorge A. Romero (Nueva York\, 1940 – Toronto\, 2017) no solo revolucionó el cine de terror con «Night of the Living Dead» (1968)\, también transformó el género en una herramienta crítica para explorar las ansiedades sociales\, políticas y personales de su tiempo. En esta obra fundacional\, los zombis no solo representan una amenaza física\, sino también una alegoría de la descomposición social y el racismo en la América de los años 60. Lejos de encasillarse\, Romero continuó expandiendo los límites del cine de género en sus siguientes películas. \nEn «Hungry Wives» (1972)\, también conocida como «Season of the Witch»\, aborda el malestar doméstico y la opresión femenina en la clase media suburbana\, a través de una narrativa que fusiona el drama psicológico con lo sobrenatural. Al año siguiente\, con «The Amusement Park» (1973)\, entrega una experiencia casi experimental sobre el envejecimiento y la alienación\, una película inquietante que denuncia el abandono social hacia los ancianos.
